"The qualifications for a pastor that the Bible gives have mainly to do with character, because it’s so vital that pastors be pace-setters and examples to the flock. When it comes to godly character and a shepherd’s heart for the people of God, I don’t know anyone more qualified or fit for the task than David Stubblefield.
The Word requires not only that the pastor have godly character, but that he also have the necessary competency to lead God’s people in God’s will and in God’s mission. I loved working with David at Summit Ministries. He was my right-hand man. As Assistant Director, David’s responsibilities were to develop the staff who in turn mentored our students. David’s ability to disciple was evident immediately and grew consistently. He was tireless, taking and making opportunities to listen, speak to and pray for our students and staff.
I admired, the ease with which David moved in this environment. He had the right words, Scripture-based words, at the right time, as young men shared their souls. David and I were both a bit younger then, but he was already demonstrating God’s gifting for leadership with a shepherd’s heart.
David is also a servant and he displayed that in many ways, but right now I’m remembering those times he slipped into the kitchen late at night to bake some chocolate chip cookies -- which turned out perfectly every time. As I think about them, I crave a big glass of milk and the opportunity to sit and discuss a good life with David once again.

Rarely do you meet someone who leaves you with a lasting impression of Jesus, seemingly without any effort on their part. David Stubblefield is such a man! A true servant of God and a faithful steward of Christ.
I have been privileged to minister alongside of David in a large church setting for the span of about four years. Often, I noticed many of the gifts God entrusted to him - leadership, discernment, and exhortation are among these. There exists within David’s demeanor a wonderful anointing from God, that emerges in the form of credibility giving rise to the influence of a natural leader.

"We are blessed to call David and Elizabeth friends for over ten years. We have watched God orchestrate such a beautiful gospel driven union since the very first time they met each other. God ordained their marriage and ministry. Those of us that have gotten to watch, encourage, pray with, and love them through the journey are better for it because they are focused on Christ being proclaimed and glorified in everything they do.
We don’t use the words leader and shepherd lightly but David is surely both. A great leader starts at home with his family and we have gotten to see this first hand. We prayed for David before we ever knew his name as Elizabeth patiently awaited God’s best for her.
